So our life changed forever just a few weeks ago when we welcomed Wyatt Guy Oldham into our family. The pregnancy was exciting and we could not wait to welcome our little handsome man into our family. I won’t go into the details of the birth except to say he was born healthy and strong and Lauren has been recovering well. You will notice from the Instagram feed Wyatt has taken over. He is cute and growing fast and already a great little adventure baby. Which means he spends most of his time eating, sleeping and pooping. I am proud to say he has taken two very short 4 wheeler drives down the drive way with me to get the mail. He slept through both of them so he still has no idea what happened. Anyways things will start picking up again as far as the blog goes… Lauren and I hope to go on a few short adventures that we can share on the site.
We still plan on reviewing a ton of great places to eat in fact I have a few we already need to review. I also plan to add a few new sections to the site which should add to the value of the site.
I start a new Job tomorrow morning which gave me Monday and Tuesday off this week. I could not look myself in the mirror ever again if I did not use at least one of those days to go riding. So this morning I woke up early and went up American Fork Canyon with my brother in-law.
While we were unloading the quads from the truck this mangy looking kid came walking towards us. I thought for sure he was going to ask us for money or food seeing how he looked homeless. This is how our conversation went. Me “Hey how are you doing?” Kid “Really bad, I blew up my bike (IE Seized the engine) and decided to hide it in the woods walked down here, got in my crappy Ford Ranger went up the canyon to get it. I got stuck crossing a river and ended up sleeping in my truck. Could you guys come pull me out?” Me: laugh my brains out for about 5 minutes before I finally asked if he was serious and told him to jump in. About 30 minutes later we got to his truck.
After about ten minutes I finally jumped into the ridged runoff water and tied the tow strap to his truck myself because he could not do it and we pulled him out. On the drive up is where I learned just how stupid this kid was.
Me: Does anyone know where you are? Kid: Not really I come up here a lot so I did not tell anyone I was here.
Me: So you slept in your truck all night while it was stuck in a river? Kid: Yes I did not want it to get swept away in the night. (Me thinking, how did you plan on stopping it since you were stuck in the middle of the river)
Me: Is your 4 wheel drive broken? Kid: No It is a two wheel drive truck I thought I could make it. Me: You are an idiot.
I encouraged him to let people know where he was next time and take someone with him while in the mountains. Life In Utah is a lot of fun outdoor adventures everywhere but sadly each year I hear about needless deaths because someone was to careless to let someone know where they were going or better yet keeping to the Buddy System.
Play hard this week and Enjoy Life In Utah

Life in Utah over the past few weeks has been crazy! First of all we are having a baby in a few months. So birthing classes preparing the nursery (pictures to come) and refinishing some furniture has us swamped.
Last friday I graduated from Utah Valley University so the past few weeks have been busy finalizing projects and taking finals. Mom was able to make it into town as well which added to the festivities.
Some of my projects are being displayed here. PSAs we shot for the Utah Safety Council two more still need to be uploaded so check back for more later.
Both of those life changing activities have their joys however I have found a way to squeeze in a few things that I really really enjoy.
1. I have gotten a fair amount of riding in at 5 Mile Pass Recreation Area. For a full review of that use this link to my riding site www.atvcowboy.com
2. Side Hustles: We love buying restoring and flipping items on local classifieds. It is a huge part of our Utah Lifestyle. Right now I am working on some of my bikes I have collected. Here is my current project which should bring around $125 profit when I am done.
So when life is getting busy take a few minutes to do a few Lifestyle things that you love doing. What are some things you do to step away from the daily grind?
